Fall 2009 >> Hired as a teaching artist for Boston Artscience 100K to develop a course for high school students interested immersive 3D art and design. December 18 >> Culminating activity demonstrated a Mixed Reality performance and collaboration. Mixed Reality is defined as the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. A machinima was posted via YouTube. Spring 2010 >> Advanced level class and open studio begins! |

March 2009 >> Gave keynote presentation for the NMC Symposium on New Media & Learning in Second Life on how to synthesize current and emerging web technologies into immersive 3D art for teaching and learning. My presentation included an online paper.
March 2009 >> Gave RYMAEC presentation for youth practitioners on how the web platform can transform and converge current technologies into immersive, 3D spaces for art making and learning. I demonstrated the use of Second Life to expand art curriculum and open up new bridges to connect and collaborate with students on a variety of topics. |
